The situation in Myanmar is really sensitive due to extreme violent fight between Rohingya, a Muslim minority community and Myanmar security force .It is also been reported that till now out of the population of 1.1 million Rohingya more than 1, 60,000 of the people have fled to Bangladesh and other neighboring countries.
Recent fight started when Rohingya Arakan Salvation army attacked over Myanmar Security Force and in response of it the “clearance operation” was initiated by state backed security force and Buddhist militia which lead to killing of around 400 people. As per the UN, around 75,000 Rohingya fled from Rakhine Region as it was being burnt badily.
Myanmar is actually a Buddhist dominant country in all terms be it language, religion or ethics and so in the country, Rohingya are living a very pathetic life as being denied of basic rights, employment, freedoms etc. and such conditions make them the world’s most unsafe minority community. They also don’t have free access to whole country and so just reside in an isolated part of the country which is the North most part of Rakhine region which share its border with Bangladesh.
Such differences exist from years, over the argument, as according to Rohingya they have their past roots from the Myanmar only while as per the Burmese citizens they are the immigrants Bengalis who were brought by Britishors in country for cheap labor and farming related occupation and thus they should not be recognized as the ethnic minority so clashes are basically due to immigration related problem and not because of religion as from ages Burma serves as a home of various religions – Buddhism , Christianity as well as Muslim too.
Rohingya Muslims are also unable to satisfy the criteria laid by citizenship law of Myanmar as according to it either one should have his both the ancestors from Myanmar only from the time of its independence i.e 1948 or an individual’s past three generations spend their lives in the country and thus they are not been issued any sort of Myanmar’s citizenship.
Before this year, in 2012 too one such incident came into scene as Rohingyas were attacked as some were alleged of raping a Buddhist girl which turned intense and lead to death of several people than in 2016 Rohingya attacked on border post and then Aung Sang Suu Kyi intensified its crackdown on Rohingya people and it was not mere attack but much more of it as several cases of rapes , molestations ,assaults were reported.
Presently situation is really unbalanced as even small children are not been spare, they are beheaded, many are losing their families, they don’t have place to live and food to eat, around 78% of them are much below than poverty line. As per recent report of 2 September 2017 of UN , 700 buildings were burnt in Rakhine region
